Christopher W. Gillespie, age 38 of Walden, NY passed away on January 26, 2021 at Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh, NY. He is the beloved son of William H. Gillespie and the late Linda E. Correll, he was born on April 3, 1982 in Newburgh, NY. Chris worked as a custom auto upholsterer for Gillin Custom Design in Middletown, NY. He had a passion for upholstery and was featured in several national magazines. He also loved camping, karaoke and spending time with his wife and friends playing video games. Chris is survived by his wife, Melissa Gillespie; father, William Gillespie and step-mother, Linda Gillespie; brother, James Gillespie; sisters, Rachel Estes and Rebekah Hall and her husband Kevin; as well as loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and many friends. Melissa and Chris had a love for animals large and small and welcomed their beloved dogs Henry and Loki into their home and hearts. Please send any memorial contributions made in Christopher’s memory to One Step Closer Animal Rescue, PO Box 248, Sparta, NJ 07871. A memorial visitation will be held from 12-2PM on Saturday, March 6th at Freedom Road Bible Church, 850 Route 52, Walden, NY 12586. Services will begin at 2PM. The memorial service will be livestreamed on the church's website, frbcny.org (select online worship) starting at 2PM.
